Small but delicious
By Hogarth MunchersVerified Reviewer from Hampton, Middx. UK on 7/19/2008
Pros:
Compact Storage, Consistency, Delicious Bread, Simple Settings
Cons:
Small Capacity
Best Uses:
Loaves, Sandwiches
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The largest size loaf is completely square. We had not appreciated quite how small a loaf this compact machine would produce - but as we do not eat a lot of bread, it is perfect for us. The American measuring tools are a little flimsy and we wonder how long these will last.

Bought this as a birthday present for my better half, but i've used it more than she has! I can definitley recommend this as a start-up machine, but if you want to make lots of bread, maybe a model with a larger capacity would suit you. Easy to use, simple, clean controls, and a large variety of recipes come in the instruction manuals. I've not tried making jam in it yet, but that's next on my list!

I paid extra for the gift wrap option - a total waste of time. It came with a small pink bow and a pre-printed a4 pseudo invoice. Otherwise service prompt and product as described. No complaints there.

A worthy baker
By Bill the BakerVerified Reviewer from South West England on 2/12/2008
Pros:
Consistency, Delicious Bread, Simple Settings
Describe Yourself:
Casual Cook

I have only baked loaves so far. Only con is that the heat is a little fierce and sometimes I have taken the loaf out ten or fifteen minutes early to get the right level of baking. Having said that my last loaf looked about right when I took it out only 5 minutes early. Incidentally I use the light bake setting. A thoroughly pleasant machine. The large window makes it easy to keep an eye on progress. The controls are clear. One last thing. I wonder why Morphy Richards don't suggest quickly opening the lid during the first 10 minutes to make sure you've got the mixture right and don't need to add a little extra water if too dry or a little extra flower if too damp and sticky. If you still don't get it right at this early stage you can always start the machine from scratch again. I would recommend this machine with the advice above.

Since having the breadmaker we have not purchased any bread from anywhere,we now make every loaf we eat.As no rubbish,ie colouring, enhancers and E additives etc. are not put into the bread we have got to be eating far healthier than we were.
I can't even boil an egg but my bread takes some beating.

Well this was a Christmas present for my mum, and she hasn't shut up about it so I imagine it was a good purchase! Apparently it makes perfect size 'loaves for one' so to be honest, what more can you want from a small breadmaker?!
