I'm an early morning coffee drinker so the downside to this product has to be the noise/vibration. Having said that I upgraded to this model from an earlier Morphy Richards model and i was prepared for the noise. It's simple to use, with a large detachable water reservoir. Providing you use a good quality espresso coffee this product should turn out a quality espresso time & time again. I had my last Morphy Richards coffee maker for 6 years! Looks good too.
This machine uses a reservoir of water every two days.In that time I make four cups of espresso. All the rest leaks into the drip tray. It is a cursed nuisance.
Very disappointing and did not always perform the funcion requested. Very messy, very noisy with so much vibration the cups could not remain still and subsequently a lot of the coffee spilled into the tray. Will probably end up in the bin!
apart from the trial and error coffee tasting an eventual perfect coffee matched this very impressive machine very easy to use and clean a big hit as a present for my son
I mostly like the machine but have a few complaints about the design and manufacture.
The surface of the waste water tray was imperfect in manufacture and after a short time is showing substantial deep corrosion. I wonder whether it will survive more than couple of years. I don't know if this is a common fault.
The metal tray on which cups stand vibrates so much during use that it is often necessary to prevent the cups slipping out from under the nozzles.
Much water is discharged into the tray when closing off the steamer; this can be reduced by instead switching off the power a few seconds earlier.
Worth it for the coffee taste but its noise, vibrations and messy undertray let it down.
