This is incredibly useful in Nigeria. Soon after arriving I bought some "beef mince" out of the back of a car (the only way to buy meat in this far flung corner of Nigeria) and wondered why it tasted and smelt rather strange. It dawned on me it could contain any kind of meat or person and I had no way of knowing. Now I can buy meat that comes from an identifiable animal and enjoy my spag bol without worrying about cannibalism.
I had thought about purchasing a stand alone unit, after reviewing the prices I opted for this accessory. I was very surprised at the quality and even more at the ease and workability of the unit. A very good investment
Great mincer as expected of Kenwood
Fast and efficient
3 choices of mince size
Very robust construction
Easy to assemble and disassemble
Easy to clean
Fits together very well for storage
Makes it quick and easy to mince fresh, good quality meat for fabulous sausages, cottage pies, moussaka, etc etc
It is a OK machine, but I would like some more information about haow to produce Kebbe, which I dont now what is. It would be nice with a picture or something. Altso I dont like that it can´t go into the dishwasher

Having recently replaced a 35 year old Kenwood Mixer and attachments with the new model, I really missed the mincer attachement which had been in regular use with the old machine. The new one doesn't disappoint, powerful, quiet and very efficient. I continue to be delighted with the Mixer and all the attachments - can't imagine life in my kitchen with my Kenwood.
A very useful piece of kit. Have never made kebbe but am going to try the recipe included. The only thing to be careful about is to ensure that you oil the cutters thoroughly after use and store them so they don't come in contact with moisture.
I had the older version of the mincer for years and used it to make meatloaf, pie fillings, burgers, ...and marmalade! This attachment is every bit as good and also makes it simple to create unusual, tasty and healthy sausages.
Brilliant product, don't force too much meat through at a time allow the machine to deal with it without causing blockages.
As with other reviewers I would prefer it if the screens were stainless but apart from that it is very good
Great product used mostly for mincing fresh rabbit or game with fruit & vegetables fo give the ferrets I keep and rescue a full and varied diet. Kids loved making sausages and mincing our own lean meat for other recipes.
Have yet to use the Mincer, however, the sausage maker was really good fun. I am sure that practice will make perfect!
As a chef I am thrilled with this atachment. Well made and easy to clean but not dishwaser proof. Minces my 10kg of weekly fish cakes no problem.
Great for making,as it says, sausages, koftes, mincing left over meat.
Best uses: mincing meat...doh! That's cos it's a mincer! teehee...sorry, seriously it's a very heavy-duty machine and looks as if it would mince a rhinoceros given the chance, certainly had no problem chomping some nice steak for me the other day. Only tip: dry the cutter and disks carefully or they go rusty - if they do just rub with wire wool, but they will be stained (not stainless steel). I added a drop of oil to mine before storing in greaseproof paper. Haven't tried sausage maker or kebbe (?) so can't comment.
Wonderful aid to healthy living. Now I know what goes into my mince and sausages.
I thought that making suasages would end up like something out of the 'generation game' but it was really easy and great fun.
Minces well and has a range of mince sizes. Kebbe maker a waste of time as tricky to make and get right. Not tried sausage maker yet.
Biggest problem is that the main housing, mincing cutter and solid steel mince size inserts are not dishwasher safe. In fact the cutter and inserts rust very easily if not protected with a layer of oil after cleaning (by hand). May also be worth storing in an air tight container with a rust inhibitor designed to protect woodworking tools (comes in a small pot that you put in there with the lid off). Other than that, a good, solid machine and seems to work well.
This was a perfect present for my husband, who loves to cook. He used it on Xmas Day and has used it every weekend since. He's on the look out for special sausage skins to make full use of it. Looking forward to trying his homemade sausages in the near future.
Seems to do the job of sausage making, although can be a bit slow and clogs. OK for small amounts. Instructions say not dishwasher safe so needs hand wash. If was made from stainless steel would avoid this and mincer screens would not rust. Quite happy with the product
should always be easily accessable because it has so many appliances. Use your imagination and the new homemade sausages, sushi items or other good stuff will become easy everyday food in your kitchen.
Makes great sausages
The use of this product is so easy.
Once you have assembled it (which could not be easier) and attached it to the Kenwood Chef, all you do is put your meat the top and with very little effort it comes out the bottom minced. It does exactly what is says on the tin!
Thank you
Brilliant mincer easy to use and much less fat when you make your own.
Makes really nice fresh mince,no grissle, just tasty fresh mince for any type of cooking.
The mincer attachment is great just be careful of the mixer you use it with.
We had an old kenwood chef for 30 years no problems just looked tired. Within three months the mincer melted the gearbox on the new chef. It took Kenwoods agents five weeks to fix the mixer. Admitedly Kenwood did thir best to rectify problem just beware if you choose an agent to do the repair under guarantee.
I like to know what's in my food. Forget bought sausages and mince from unknown cuts and sources of meat. Make your own! Much tastier, healthier and potentially better for the environment and local economy (depending on meat source); with endless recipe possibilities.
Kenwood have made another effective attachment for their chef, which really does the job of mincing and sausage extruding well.
My only caution is not to purchase larger sausage casings, as the larger extruder nossel is only suitable for medium skins.
This attachment has hardly changed since it was introduced with the first Kenwood Chefs in the 1940s. It does what it says on the tin: it minces meat. Postwar "housewives" would've used it to mince the leftover roast for midweek ration-eking rissoles; today, it's more likely to be used to make proper sausages. Which it does well.
I can't see the point of the kebbe-maker; it's just another piece of plastic to get lost.
The biggest problem with it is that it's made of diecast aluminium alloy, which can't be washed in the dishwasher.
I'd have been willing to pay double the money for a stainless-steel, dishwasher-proof version.
