Attachments easy to fit and clean. Good job of mixing, especially with flexible beater, though occasional scrape down helps. Buttercream and cake mixes are wonderfully light. Dough comes out quite well (eeled it off hook a few times to allow thorough kneading). Fairly solid machine. Main con: motor is noisy, whole item vibrates and my toddler begs me to switch off the noise!

Rediculously good! great price, great machine, [...]. this is at least [$] cheaper than anywhere else, i don't know how they do it! i've taken the kenwood insurance that they offer in the box £50 for 5 years against accidental damage too which is great knowing me, also bought additional plastic bowl for £18 which is great especially because its lighter than the one that comes with it so you can weigh stuff streight into the bowl. Buy it, screw Kitchenaid, this is the daddy!

This is our 3rd Chef in 40 years. The last one lasted 20 odd years so this should see us out!! Very impressed by the powerful motor. The dough kneading is first class and will make (just) 3 x 2lb loaves in one go. Cake mixing is also improved and the flexible K beater is a DREAM. The food processor is very good and has made our purpose built one almost redundant. Plenty of power for our mincer too. [...]

ok, my old Kenwood has been in daily use for 40 years and has served me well. I haven't had time to give this new Chef a good testing yet but have used it for pastry making, sponge cakes, batter and soup. Of course it 'feels' a bit different. It's quieter, the speeds have more subtle adjustment and the body feels heavy and rugged and 'up to the job'. It also looks extremely smart in the kitchen. I would like to list drawbacks but so far I haven't found any. I have to say I get a buzz of pleasure using it - and I hate cooking!

If you've got an old Kenwood and can't afford a new one - get yourself the flexible beater!

[...]Bought mainly for breadmaking and cakemaking, but has been in almost daily use in the 3 or so weeks since it arrived. Whisked a very smooth batter for Shrove Tuesday pancakes last night.PROS: Wonderful set of accessories available, both those (like the glass blender) included in the box and those available at extra cost. It's just a question of choosing which ones to buy first.CONS: Some slight vibration when kneading or mixing very heavy loads. Neither excessive nor annoying, but suggests that the mixer (base?) should ideally be heavier.

I have had a A900 series chef for about 30 years, and when it finally gave up the ghost I chose to upgrade to this model.
This is better then the 900 series in many ways as the speed control is far more accurate, and the low starting point means that you don't get a lot of flour flying everywhere when you get going. I was also pleased to find that most, but not all of my attachments fit this new machine and the new ones did not cost too much. I bought the Juicer attachment with it, and so am saving on some worktop space too.
Its really perfect for me and I would imagine anyone that does a lot of cooking and baking at home.
