Check out Karen from Bristol's comments because it was hers that made me go ahead & purchase mine! I did a huge amount of research to justify the expense but I've made the right decision. It was down to the larger bowl and more power versus the smaller bowl and lower wattage. I tend to batch bake so do use larger quantities. The processer attachment is fab I make coleslaw, grated cheese alot. In fact anything I can whizz, especially when I want to hide veggies in pasta sauces for my 3 yr old!.It looks stylish on my worksurface and I am looking forward to many years of useage including the teaching of my daughter to cook also. Its so easy to take apart, clean and put back together. Cupboard space is a consideration with the attachments but as they were a major reason for my purchase I feel the space is well worthwhile. I've owned mine now for 2 months but grew up using my mums. If you are looking for a mixer you can't beat it. Go on get it - if you enjoy cooking its worth it!

Use it everyday for lots of different things, i have used the kenwood machines for 20 years and have always had one in any kitchen i have worked in, they just never brake down!! until now!! i have bought a km 020 machine and if you put hot soup in the liquidiser it will crack!! the cogs in the motor have worn out (Only two months old)!!
the cogs are not strong enough for the new 1500w motor

Monster mixer?
By Busy mumVerified Reviewer from Wales on 4/8/2008
Pros:
Good attatchments, No flimsey plastic knobs, Powerful Motor, Quality that should last, Solid machine
Cons:
Knack to fit attatchments
Best Uses:
Cake Making, Dough making, Grating cheese, Liquidising soups, Making breadcrumbs, Whisking meringues
Describe Yourself:
Casual Cook
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Larger than my previous 'major chef' model so sometimes things seem lost in the bowl. However, have been very impressed with it's power, and mixing ability. Looks an impressive piece of kitchen equipment. With our family of six its often in use for one thing or another. I have to get use to fitting the liquidiser and grater as at present these are a bit of a fiddle in getting to sit appropriately on the top seatings.

I bought this to make really nice homemade bread (instead of getting a breadmaker), and with the dough hook it really couldn't be easier. My first attempt was a focaccia loaf with herbs and sundried tomatoes, and it was absolutely outstanding. The dough hook worked really well. I've also made several batches of soup in the blender attachment, and it pureed the ingredients to a velvety smooth consistency. I haven't yet tried the ice cream maker or the meat grinder, but so far I'm very pleased with this appliance -- which is a good thing because it wasn't cheap!

Very Pleased!
By A Domestic GoddessVerified Reviewer from East Sussex on 3/26/2008
Pros:
Dishwasher Safe, Handles Tough Jobs, Powerful Motor, Versatile
Best Uses:
Cakes, Mashing potato, Meringues, Mixing Batter, Pastry
Describe Yourself:
Avid Cook
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a great product! I chose it because of the larger capacity, and I'm glad I did - you can do smaller quantities in this large bowl, but you can't do large quantities in the smaller bowl!
It's easy to keep clean, and looks good on the worktop. Feels sturdy enough to handle anything!
Blender makes incredible ice-cream milkshakes - complete with Oreo Cookies!
My only criticism would be that the Recipe Book that it comes with needs updating. It doesn't mention this particular model, or the new flexi k-beater. It would have been nice to have had a bit more specific information, but this is only a minor irritation!

I am starting my own cake making business and was fed up of having to use two bowls to make larger sponges. I no longer have to do that with this as the bowl is so large! When I went to pick up the box from the courier, I got such a surprise as the box was so big. I knew it came with a glass jug but was not expecting the food processor, which was fantastic as the one I had had just packed up. So far I have made about 4 large cakes with it and it is fantastic. No more two mixing bowls for me - and no mess!

Such good kit - I have a passion for well designed and high quality kit - and this machine ticked all the right boxes. Like many others, my mother has had a KC for as long as I can remember (orange I think it is). This is significantly more powerful and looks the business. Especially like the new rubber K beater which works really well. Included recipe book is also good. Large baloon whisk has now replaced my collection of hand and other electric whisks and works better too. Great stuff!

I have wanted one of these for a while however wasn't sure whether I could justify the expense - or the cupboard space! However since it arrived I have wondered how I ever did without it. The free attachments (food processor + liquidiser) also make a real difference, and are well worth including. I can chop vegetables, grate cheese and liquidise a soup all in a matter of seconds. The main mixing bowl plus range of attachments are wonderful for cakes, meringues, you name it. All the attachments are dishwasher friendly so it's a breeze to clean. It would be nice if the cover was included (my mother tells me it used to be with the old machines) however I guess you can't have everything. Very highly recommended.

I purchased this mixer as I have a baby on the was and decided I would make my own food as the cost of baby food is expensive in the shops.

I have been using it over the last few weeks.

I made XMAS cakes with the 6Lt bowl with great ease as you know how much of a chore mixing XMAS cake gets wqhen you have loads of fruit to stir with a wooden spoon.

I have also used this machine to whip whipping cream and this was done with very little effort.

I also turned the last little bit of cream into butter for a bit of a laugh.

The book that comes with the mixer is just under 200 pages and is well worth a read is it explains how to use the mixer and comes with plenty of receipies.

I have the 6Lt bowl which is very easy to clean with a wet cloth.

I also have the splash guard which is ideal for getting littles ones to help as they won't get thier hand in the way of the massive K beaters.

I would certainly reccommend this mixer to anyone who enjoys cooking without all the hassle of mixing etc etc.

Definitely the best Kenwood money can buy. Can cope with double the quantities of ordinary Kenwood Chef with no problem at all. Extra large mixing bowl means a considerable amount of time can be saved making larger quantities of bread and cake mixes. Overall the machine and all its attachments need a cupboard on thier own so may be a bit large for a small kitchen

I used to have a chef for many years but now with me having the grand children over for tea more often I found the Chef a little too small, so I gave it to my daughter and bought the larger major. I am so pleased with it as I am able to make far larger cake mixes as well as use it for smaller quantities too. It is really a godsend in the kitchen as I now use it for many things like making soups and lovely burgers with fresh steak.
