After years of food processors which I have never found to whisk satisfactorily, this machine whisks beautifully.
It also makes great pastry and looks fabulous in the kitchen.
Made some meringues - the first time in years.
Have found no drawbacks so far, but to be fair it is early days.

Pros:
Great value, Mixes large batches
Best Uses:
Mixing Batter
Describe Yourself:
cake maker/decorator
Bottom Line:

This is a great value mixer. It mixes large batches, and small batches equally well. A minor point is that the very bottom of the mixture doesn't always mix, so you have to scrape the base of the bowl and go again.

I use mine all the time as I am commencing a cake decorating business, and it's great :)

Careful putting too much flour, etc in in one go 'cos it'll end up everywhere when you turn it on!!

Fab mixer. Its spunky colour and well-designed retro styling will add a splash of style to your kitchen, plus it's sturdy - though it's fairly compact it also has a satisfying heft to it - and it does the job. What more could you ask for? A fair price, you say? Well, it's that too. Treat yourself. You won't regret it.

I don't know how I managed without it!
By DaisymooVerified Reviewer from Ipswich, Suffolk on 11/20/2007
Pros:
Contemporary appearance, Dishwasher Safe, Handles Tough Jobs, Powerful Motor, Quiet, Safe for children to use, Solid quality product
Cons:
Plastic rim ineffective
Best Uses:
Bread, Cakes, Mixing Batter, Pastries, Perfect crumbles
Describe Yourself:
Avid Cook
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Having considered more expensive models, and dismissed them as an unnecessary luxury, I could not manage my baking days without this mixer. Representing excellent value for money, it looks contemporary and great on the work surface, yet is not so heavy that it needs to be a permenant fixture. Unlike my food processor before it, it is easy to keep clean. All attachments are suitable for the dishwasher. The generous size bowl means that I can double up my recipes and keep the freezer well stocked, and best of all, its so safe and fool proof, I can leave my boys to bake without worrying about loose blades or lids. In short, I love my Kenwood Patissier, and couldnt manage without it. For Children In Need, I was able to make large quantities of cakes, to sell as a fundraiser, and it was so much easier than using a large bowl and a hand whisk, or my food processor, where the bowl capacity is so much smaller. Additionally, even on full speed, it is quiet yet efficient. I would recommend this product to all. My only gripe would be the plastic bowl rim attachment which was supplied for ease of adding ingredients and for pouring purposes. I have found this to be ineffective, and capable of generating more mess and clouds of flour when in use, than when not, but then maybe its just me! For me, purchasing a Kenwood Patissier has represented a sound investment, combining value for money with stylish good looks!
