I bought this iron to press my hand painted silk scarves, it is good for this purpose as the sole plate is easier to clean off the residue dyes than a steam iron with holes that get clogged with cleaner.
The iron is surprisingly light weight, could have done with it being heavier.
But because of the ease of cleaning it is effective for my needs.
My wife is satisfied with the iron but says its a bit on the small side. [...]
Steam is a real pain when it come to natural fabrics. It seems that Rowenta has discontinued its lovely dry iron so I am delighted this is available. If you are a quilt maker then this is definately for you!
THIS IRON MAY LOOK OUT DATED BUT I NEVER JUDGE A
BOOK BY ITS COVER!
ITS SO EASY TO USE AND IT GLIDES EFFORTLESSLY
MAKING IRONING ENJOYABLE.IT HAS NO FIDDLY BITS THAT EXIST IN STEAM IRON.IT JUST DOES ITS FUNCTION AND NOTHING MORE!ITS LIGHTNESS IS ANOTHER MAJOR ASSET.
Good straight forward iron, used every day.
Base plate could be heavier like our original version of this iron.
Prefer a dry iron to steam irons (which seem to be almost all that's available these days, so pleased to find somewhere that still has dry irons available). Perfectly adequate, previously used a Morphy Richards 40181, and preferred that as that was heavier and therefore eliminated creases more easily. This is virtually identical apart from weight.
This is an ideal tool for creative purposes when steam is a no go. There are not enough dry irons on the market for this purpose.
Product was great, it was for my Mum who does not like steam irons, this dry iron is just what she needed. It was so easy to buy from you i would use you again without any hesitation.
