I will be asking for a replacement as this refused to work after 2 oranges juiced (motor working but not turning juicer (replacement for an older Kenwood model so know haw to use it)
I purchased this small product in order to squeeze lemons quickly. If I had wanted to use it mainly for oranges I would have opted for a larger item. Given that I wanted a small product, I would have made it smaller and more easily manageable -- it is necessary to use both hands to lift/move it because the jug section is not attached to the base in any way -- this could easily be remedied by making the jug screw on to the base in a simply way.
I chose this product because my previous Kenwood Juicer had been so reliable for 20 years but am very disappointed with this new version.
we bought this juicer, because it does just that, juices. other products on the market, where you put the whole fruit in, were rubbish, we had to take them back (juice tasted like plastic!)
however, it did break after just over a week of using it. it does say in the instructions, don't press hard (or words to that effect) and we didn't, but it still broke. however, everyone's definition of hard is different.
i'm not saying that's why it broke, maybe it was just a dodgy unit...
we got a replacement, and it has lasted longer *touch wood* so far!
it's a good machine, even with our earlier problem, i'd recommend it.
the juice you get depends on how juicy the fruit is, but we've had no complaints with it, a couple of decent size oranges does 1/2 people.
try a lemon and a lime together (very bitter, but fun tasting, hehe) then add lemonade, SO delicious!!
used every day for pure orange juice.
Was quite fast and easy to clean, but from the start it span predominantly in one direction (is supposed to do both directions). We used it daily for breakfast, doing around 4 oranges each time. It performed ok, but after one month it stopped spinning altogether. But it was quite cheap, so rather than going to the trouble of getting it fixed we threw it away and bought a more substantial citrus juicer.
This was the 3rd Kenwood juicer I had bought: the others were fine. Within a few days of purchase the gears stripped. (Note that I didn't use it any differently from those over previous 5 years or so, but use it every day)[...]
Compact so doesn't take up a lot of room in the kitchen. Easy to use. Goes in the dishwasher so easy to clean.
I use the citrus juicer to make a fresh orange drink for breakfast. I like the fact that it is simple to use and easy to clean.
Unfortunately it feels weak, when squeezing an orange, as though the motor is about to stall/fail. The noise that it makes reinforces that impression. As it happens mine failed when the spindle went progressively slower and the gearbox started to emit 'graunching' noises after only two and a half months.
Kenwood replaced it without question. I have only just received the replacement so I am hoping that it will be ok.
I use this every morning to squeeze oranges so do not buy concentrate it saves time
I wanted a simple product that does what it says on the tin. This is it.
