Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I bought this to use with my multi room audio system to store all the music on so I dont need a computer connected to it. Its been easy to use and as it has RAID drive mirroring too, which I think is unique among such low priced NAS devices, I'm confident that I wont lose the data. You do need to buy the hard drives to put in it however!!
