I made ciabattas last night for dinner. They were amazing - our griller did a splendid job. A layer of salami, then one of mild cheddar (couldn't find any mozzarella), onion and then a top layer of fancy Italian ham. Into the griller for 5 minutes or so - and WOW!! Just like you'd buy in an Italian deli. So tasty. What an excellent choice of present to receive.

Given the price this is a good buy. The press makes the attractive authentic Panini lines when it toasts and heats up nice and quickly. I've only used it to toast Panini's but I can see that it would heat a multitude of other things. Attractive design and easy to clean.
On the down side the clip holding it together when standing it up to store away is flimsy, poor quality and doesn't really hold it together, hence it keeps falling open when you stand it up. Also the heat dial is poor quality and I have my doubts that it controls the temperature of the press.
However all in all a decent buy.
