Easy use for disabled
wonderful gadget, have arthritus and it is a boon'
works best with small even shaped potatoes.
would recommend.
Having recently purchased the potato peeler as I was doing a lot of entertaining I discovered that it needs to rest between batches. If it overheats it stops working. [...]
i am a Mother who works fulltime so this was bought to save time on the preperation of the evening meal.
i turn it on, while i get changed but someone has to watch it as it can very quickly vibrate itsself off the counter.
it needs to be on quite a long time for it to do a good job and the water has foamed and a better design would of been to have the sharp points all the way around the bowl and deeper as well.
i have to do 2 lots of spins for a family of 5.
As we have problems with our hands (arthritis etc.) we find it very useful for peeling potatoes, it would be even better if it peeled all the vegetables as well! (ha! ha!)
esay 4 disaled person
This is a very useful product for anyone who has shaky hands, and finds it difficult to use a knife or potato peeler.
I bought this last year have only managed to use
once it started pouring water next time have checked everything ,not me,bought from electric shopping, can't find receipt or would have returned, complete waste of money I feel cheated !!!
This is an efficient way of peeling potatoes, it does leave a few bits behind but it only takes seconds to remove them with a knife. It is not as hard to clean as I thought it would be. It is noisy and does jump about a bit but if you hold the lid it's fine. Haven't tried the salad spinner yet.
Straight out of the box...assembling the Princess is intuitive and esay though you may need to persist in seating the fitted item properly. This is a safety device. The Princess simply will not work unless all parts are correctly assembled and fitted. (This usually only requires a gentle thump on the back of top of the lid where a top--to-bottom link forms the safety device).
From a 2.5 kilo bag of potatoes, the Princess will peel/scrape the lot in 3 seperate loads.
Each load takes about 1 to 2 minutes.
The peel that has been removed is transformed into pulp, so there are no peelings to deal with.
Getting rid of the pulp is as easy as pouring it into a suitable container or sink for disposal as liquid pulp.
It's that easy!
When the job is done, simply take the lid, the main body and the removable blades unit, in turn, and rinse under the tap.
Voila!
All is clean again and ready to use for the next occasion.

Salad Spinner
The Salad spinner could not be easier to use.
Just remove the easily recognisable spinner-unit from the box and place within the Princess. To stop salad contents from flying all over the place, Princess have thoughtfully included a round, clip-lid.
Take the clip lid and secure this lid to the spinner-bowl, (once you have placed the freshly washed salad contents into the spinner bowl).
Put the Princess's lid on, make sure it's fitted properly (a gentle thump as described above usually suffices) and switch on until you are ready to check the contents.
I have found that after chipping potatoes prior to cooking, a quick spin in the spinner removes much of the surplus water and starch so that your freshly chipped potatoes are perfectly prepared for deep frying.
(Helping to ensure that the hot cooking oil does not bubble up-and-over from the frying unit.
Yes, the Princess peeler IS quite noisy.
I find this a most acceptable trade-off for such a fast and efficient way of peeling the week's potatoes in advance!
For the squeamish who may be shy at handling the pulped peel, may I suggest wearing your Marigolds (or similar) for the minute or two you need to flush and wash the parts under the hot tap.
There is just one reasonable limitation to bear in mind.
The Princess Peeler does a superb job BUT it will NOT sort out the eyes, the green and the other blemishes that our potatoes are often blessed with. The 'finishing' has to be done by hand.
The Princess will do a perfect job if you give it perfectly heathy potatoes that are perfectly round and not too large.
Great for me, as I can no longer peel potatos due to illness! Peels well and makes a perfect shape for perfect roasties!
Very easy to use, just cover the blade with 400ml of water add the potatoes (don't overfill) and press the switch, 2 minutes later switch off and you will have to de-eye the now peeled potatoes. I use King Edwards for chips and they peeled great.

This is a great product - though not perfect, there are lots of 'eyes' in the potatos that you would never notice if you peel them manually, but this peeler does not catch them and you have to slice these bits off afterwards. This is not a major problem though as obviously you have to chop the potatos anyway, all in all it makes the job far less tedious and is great for those who have problems such as arthritis in the hands. It is very easy to clean - you just have to rinse it, theres no places for loads of dirt to get stuck. I think its good too because it seems to only take off the very top layer of skin, so you get more nutrition from the potatos. It is noisy but its no worse than a vacuum cleaner and its only for 2 minutes. I love this and couldn't do without it now.
BEING DISABLED I AM UNABLE TO PEEL POTATOES. THIS HAS ALLOWED ME TO HAVE PROPER MASH AGAIN.
A very helpful product if you have restricted use of your hands and find the action of peeling potatoes difficult or impossible.
It is a bit noisy, but not more than expected.
Very quick, only two minutes. Easy to rinse out.
Good value for money.
If you can peel, use a peeler.
But if you can't or just love gadgets, get one, you won't be disappointed.
A superb product for us as we both have arthritic hands.
I bought this product for my mum who finds it difficult peeling potatoes due to having bad hands and being unable to stand for any length of time.
I can't praise it enough she has her potatoes peeled in no time at all and with no pain in her hands.
How I wish that this product had been around years ago..... a great time saver, getting rid of the daily chore of hand peeling. Super! [...]
i brought this product for my nan as she has trouble holding things now. it really has helped her.
ok if good quality potatoes used but doesn't get bad bits out very well. Moves about a lot so you have to stay nearby. Saves quite a bit of time with preparation but takes up quite a lot of room. very easy to assemble, use and clean.
Will scrape small new carrots as well as potaotesm
I would highly recommend this product as it very usefull and time saving! it is a little noisy and moves about the work top a bit i found putting it on the floor was better! but they are ony minor issues i'm still very pleased.
I do a batch of potatoes for 2 or 3 days on one day. The machine works best on small potatoes. If you fill the machine over half full it jams . If it jams regularly It will ruin the plastic cogs inside. That's why i had to buy a new machine !. The principal is great but stronger mettle cogs inside would have helped a lot . Great idea !.
This is one of the best electrical items I have bought. you put water in the bottom, potatoes in the peeler, put on the lid and switch on, within two mins. you have peeled potatos.
Peeling potatos by hand is a pet hate of mine, so this is fantastic for me.
Two things i have to say, the machine vibrates slightly around the work top when it is on, and obviously it can't get the little eyes out of potatos. I have put in my review noisy but I wouldn't have expected it to be quiet considering what it does, it's no louder than a food processor. I would recommend it to anyone who cooks alot or hates peeling potatos like me.
this machine is a quick and efficiant way of preparing potatoes
It's a good machine for peeling new potatoes but the plastic is a bit flimsy in construction.
very light in weight. i gave it to my sister who got arthritis and she says it's the best kitchen gadget she's got
thanks
I use on a daily bases and i am very pleased
with its a great little peeler
really easy to use and clean hooray no more peeling potatoes
Saves time and effort
AS WE ARE GETTING OLDER IT IS OF GREAT USE
Its noisy, quite large & doesn't take that many potatoes but it beats peeling them by hand any day!
great for small tasty potatoes the ones you would normally throw away
Very helpfull and easy to use .Takes the hard work out of potato peeling
Works well and really does peel potatos in double quick time. But its not the same as if done by hand as so when I used it you get get some peel left on the potatos. If you can live with that, its perfect - if not, then its back to doing it by hand. I am more than happy with the way it works and the amount of peeling it does. good stuff.
